About

Something New

I have started this blog in order to allow our friends and family, most of whom live in far off places, to keep track of our kids, our lives and our future.

Lavender Streets is my way of happily integrating the horticulture which I have grown so much to love, with the ‘city’ life in which I thrive.  It is the balance of busy, urban, and tough streets made of calming, rural, and carefree lavender…my sanctuary. Where wine is sipped and chocolate is savored.  It is where the beautiful Arizona sun sings an old song as it sets one more time, leaving me peacefully to retire from another busy day.

My plan is to break it apart into sections for easy access.  These headings will include: 1)The Day- just general thoughts and daily drama, 2) Garden Jargon- my successes and failures in my garden world, 4) Elijah, 5) Judge, 6) Evangelista, and 7) Magnus.  This should make my posts easily accessible should I ever need to refer to something at a later date.  Pictures will also be included within the heading’s post…at least that is what I will attempt to do.

In the past, I have had days/months/years when I would set my standards higher in being a better mom and wife, which includes, but not concludes, with home and body maintenance and general organization and planning…some of which have indeed improved. However, I will now attempt to keep better records and remember dates of important events, as well as ‘thank-you’s’ and ‘get well’s’.  I have struggled endlessly in these areas, and apologize to those whom I have offended. But now, with my new Google calendar, and my new blog, I will be Super Woman…in full costume at all times!  Hmmm-Only time will tell.

So for now, this is my Something New.  If only the world was filled with Streets of Lavender.  We would all be in a euphoric, blissful state of joy and contentment. Doing all we know we should do to better ourselves and all of those around us. We’ve lots of planting to do!  Let’s start today!
